When an object is in motion it stays in motion.
The same is also true for an object at rest.
It can also be inferred that you might react in a similar way.
I find that this notation to be true because when things are going it’s hard to stop because the momentum that’s already built is easy to continue.
It’s also really hard to start new anything.
Or to run from a stand still start.
If you have the slightest amount of favor going your way, it’s a starting point to build from, and use the next little wind and another will be on its way.
The friction might be a lot to being with, but it lessens with time and patience. Usually, can’t be seen with an untrained eye.
One gust of wind in your sail could be all you need to start, and it could be anything. But everyone needs it to start from sitting still because the object will stay resting without outside forces being acted upon it.
Deflecting the outward forces to slow us down are also just as important to keep momentum.
Keep the inertia, deflect outside forces and build yourself up.
