When to Rest?

Could be today, a few hours from now, tomorrow, the next day or next week?

Do you pick it?

Do you let others pick it for you?

There is a difference between the two and it makes a world of a difference.

How do you know?

You should if you pick it yourself, and are you disciplined enough to only take them when you actually need it.

I know the answer for myself.

There is plenty of questions to ask oneself, but there only a few that are important in the present. For me this is one that I am tackling head on.

Do I need rest yes, my body demands it and has forced me to take a moment away from pursuits of goals. Could it be momentum to change course or just reevaluate where I’m headed.

I need to do both, but which is first. Again, more questions? Maybe another problem to tackle? No, not today. Monologuing too much, possibly. I won’t ask another question before answer the original prompt.

Back to, it.

It is best to act with the wind behind you, use it to fly much farther than alone.

Rest when forced and pick days of value and opportunity. Only you can understand these days, so you must pick.

Obstacles, are not one of these reasons to rest.

Use obstacles as targets. The next hill to overcome during a run, build up the momentum gradually. Repeat the effort and it becomes easier.

Well, that a topic for another day and session.

For today, I say rest when forced, to reevaluate, reapproach, to find new opportunities, and for days that you value close to your heart.

You must pick them and not let just come to you.
