Slow Down

A little bit won’t hurt.

Take some time to think about it all.

For me I think I’ve been going through a period of readjustment, taking a break from the chaos. Not because I need a break but a bit of time to reevaluate where I’m heading.

The captain of the ship must know where his next port is before knowing to pull the sails to port side or not.

I’ve realized I’m heading in a similar direction, just not in the most direct route. Almost pretending to go there. Charting the course, pulling the sails and turning the rutter, we’re at full mast but still something is off.

So, the captain goes to half-mast to check his compass and maps, use the stars at night to pinpoint his coordinates. With the waves and current they’re now off course, even when charted correctly from port.

With the waves of life that constantly thrown at us, we need to rechart and figure out where the heck we are. I’m just lost at sea right now, using the stars to see where I’m currently at. I might not be the most accurate, but I’ve got a general idea that I need to change my course a bit, but I’ve always been heading in the right direction.

Giving some time for reflection and turning the sails just few degrees towards what I think is the goal post for know.

To what that said goal is now, just a bit of stability that I can rely on.

Not something that goes with the current of the day or is taken by the wind easily.

I’m looking for a foundation to build off of.

To create something that can’t not be taken.

Something of my own creation, built with time and effort.

To take pride in the effort that I give each and every day, and to remember the hardships of the journey along the way.

I’m not asking for it to be easy, in fact the opposite. I want to be hard so there is no way out but up.

To only way to live in the future I have planned, and the environment forces that action into place.

I will not be a victim to my environment, but it will shape me into the person I must be to succeed in the future that I have planned.

So, there is one option. And the only option is to be that person.

I turn the sails, use the current and wind to fill my sails to land in paradise.

A take moment now to readjust and again put full effort into charting my ship in right direction.

For now, I must cast off.

Towards a better me and better future ahead beyond the rough waves head.
