What’s Next?

Is always the question that pops into my head.

I need to shift that mindset from what’s up next to just a breath of fresh air. And by fresh air I mean enjoying the accomplishment. Being totally in the moment and being present with the fact that I just did that.

I think the reason many of us bring up this same question is because we seek instant gratification. And if it’s not properly received, we tend to fill that void with another to do list.

Just going down the list till something gives us that moment of satisfaction.

I realized by doing this myself, it’s not the completion of the task that gives the ultimate pat on the back for getting it done. It’s the process itself.

You have to love it.

And if you keep trying to force the happiness to come in the same fashion, you might go crazy. And ask the why I am I doing this? The fact of the matter is repeating the same thing over again and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity.

I’m not an insane man, so I’ll try it differently.

That’s the real next thing to do.

Just a bit better than the last time, failing a bit less than the last.

The compounding effort over time, is the satification that you seek.

Delayed from the immediate moment.

That why you must love the process and get obsessed with a one percent better each day.

That is what is next.
